The Pay-It-Forward (PIF) Foundation was established by the compassionate Ms. Kat Sta. Cruz on August 23, 2021, amidst the global upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. During this challenging time, when lockdowns were widespread, businesses were forced to close, and many individuals faced unemployment, PIF emerged with a mission to support those in need. The foundation initially focused on acquiring in-game assets, which were then loaned to members of affected communities. Instead of repaying these loans, Ms. Kat envisioned a more impactful and sustainable approach, which is assisting with Urban Farmer Manila, a plant-gifting company.
The foundation has significantly supported many of its members by covering their hospital bills and tuition fees. In turn, these beneficiaries have continued the foundation's mission by extending their own acts of kindness. They have given back to the community through various initiatives, such as distributing food to those in need, thereby continuing the chain of generosity and support that the foundation aims to inspire. “Joining PIF not only benefited me personally but also enabled me to support others in need. I made sure that the help I received didn't end with me. I passed it along to others, continuing the ripple effect that the foundation started.”, one of the members said.
Today, PIF is made up of incredible people who once received and are still receiving help from the foundation. This special connection inspires everyone to spread kindness and share experiences, guided by the spirit of giving back and creating a ripple effect.
